NDG food depot

Through Empty Bowls, Hanukah food baskets, and volunteering at Le Café, our congregation has demonstrated its commitment to alleviating food insecurity. As mentioned from the bima on Yom Kippur, the Social Justice Committee is proposing that we take this commitment to the next level by partnering with the NDG Food Depot -a long time recipient of Empty Bowls funding-to help its clients meet the many challenges they face in their daily lives and to acquire the skills and connections that can help lift them out of poverty. The NDG Food Depot is not only a food bank but also a social center serving residents of NDG and the surrounding boroughs.

Our goal is to match the skills and knowledge of our synagogue's members with the needs of the NDG Food Depot's clients and leadership. If you would like to participate in this project, please fill out the form which you can pick up at the front or from this week’s email bulletin and return it in one of the ways listed on the form.
