Observing a Yahrtzeit
Observing a Yahrtzeit
We have several different opportunities for you to observe a yahrzeit, the anniversary of the death of a parent, spouse, or child.. The primary way is by attending Shabbat morning services in order to recite Kaddish Yatom, Mourner’s Kaddish. The names of those whose yahrzeiten are being observed during a given week are read before Mourner’s Kaddish during Shabbat morning services. Please arrive in the sanctuary by 10:00 am on Shabbat morning, and identify yourself to one of our parnassim for an aliyah.
We also have a Meditation Minyan service most Wednesday mornings please call the office to make sure that minyan is meeting on that day if you wish to attend.
You may also make a donation to the synagogue in honour of a loved one’s yahrzeit, establish a memorial plaque for them in the sanctuary or submit a name(s) to our anual Yizkor book. Please contact the office for more information.
