Our topics will examine why the Twin Towers collapsed and the Empire State Building did not, why the Bank of China looks the way it does, the many styles of buildings around the world, the problems of building tall, the future of tall buildings and many other aspects of skyscrapers.

This class is an expanded introduction to the core concepts and traditions of contemporary Jewish life. This season we will focus on key Jewish holidays, weaving in Jewish history, “practical spirituality” and some contemporary challenges. We will try to cover all of the class topics, but the learning will be expansive, and class discussions may lead us wonderfully in different directions. While primarily for those in the process of conversion, all levels of learners should feel comfortable participating in the class. The class format is interactive with a mixture of text study, lecture and other activities. Optional readings will be assigned to do at home.
