Weddings

Getting married? Mazal Tov! Dorshei Emet offers a warm and inviting, intimate milieu for Jewish couples to celebrate their special day. Double ring ceremonies are the norm, and we support the blending of tradition with contemporary egalitarian values to create the ceremony of your dreams.  Newlyweds receive a one-year free membership, which entitles them to High Holiday passes. Contact the office or Rabbi Boris today to plan your special occasion.

We invite partners who are both Jewish to be married in our community. We also welcome interfaith couples where the non-Jewish partner is committed to supporting their Jewish partner and raising a Jewish family.  (Read the full details of our interfaith marriage policy  here).

Prior to each wedding, the rabbi meets a minimum of two or three times with the bride and groom.  During these meetings, the rabbi will go over the details of the wedding ceremony and discuss the rituals and the various options that are available.  Rabbi Boris believes in working with each couple to plan a wedding ceremony that brings in the best of Jewish tradition, yet also fits your values to express what makes you unique. Participatory readings in English (or another language), additional songs, and other creative elements are welcomed, and smiles are required!

Our facilities are ideal for smaller, intimate celebrations but can also accommodates up to 200 guests at a function with table service and dancing. Our kitchen accommodates meat or dairy receptions.  Rabbi Boris is also happy to officiate at one of the many wonderful venues around the Montreal area.
