Conversion
Congregation Dorshei Emet welcomes those who are interested in converting to Judaism. We view sincere conversion as a potential source of new energy and creativity in our community. Converts are entitled to full rights of membership within the synagogue; there is no difference between a Jew-by-choice and a Jew-by-birth in the eyes of the community. Our conversion process includes a year of study in our “Paths of Judaism” course, taught by Rabbi Boris. To learn more about the process and ritual requirements, please call the office to make an appointment.
“Paths of Judaism” is a course designed for Jews hoping to deepen their own understanding of their heritage, as well as single conversion candidates and interfaith couples exploring options for creating a Jewish family. The course is usually held on Monday nights throughout the year. For more information, contact the office to register at (514) 486-9400.
